Miroblading FAQ’s

Why choose PHI Brow Artist?2021-04-28T08:55:57-05:00

Microblading is a procedure that more and more people are starting to become aware of. However, not all microblading is the same. Education and skill is very different based on each state’s laws surrounding education and training. It can be difficult to choose a Microblading artist because there are wide variances in technique, products used, and price. There are many things to save money on in life. Any procedure on your face, shouldn’t be one of them! Microblading is a long term relationship and will require yearly touch ups. Be judicious in choosing and artist that will produce work on your face. Here are 5 reasons choosing a Phibrows Artist can greatly benefit you.

  1. Training: Phibrows Artist’s produce superior work because they follow a very specific method that is taught to them through a live, hands on work shop followed by a rigorous 6-month training course. This course requires the Artist to pass 11 levels of mastery to ensure that their methods and their work maintain a very high standard… the Phibrows standard. No other Microblading Academy in the world has a lengthy, strictest, and rigorous program like ours. Other trainings offer 1-day courses, online only courses, and courses where you never train on a real person under the careful supervision of a Master trainer.
  2. Tools: PhiBrows methods and tools have been meticulously designed and redesigned to continually aid their trained artists. These methods and tools allow for precise hair-strokes, perfect symmetry, and beautiful eyebrow shape that enhance the natural shape of a client’s face and bone structure. They have been developed from highest quality stainless steel and products made. They are certifiable sterile and go through rigorous testing to ensure perfection. They have the least amount of damage and clean cuts compared to any other microblade on the market!
  3. Products: Their products have been continually tested and reevaluated to produce the highest quality pigments available. These pigments provide color that stays and do not turn different colors. They are certified to not include any heavy metals found in other permanent makeup pigments. They are also certified vegan and cruelty free. They do not contain heavy metals, they do not change color, migrate, or cause any reactions with the skin. 1,000,000 procedures have been done around the world using their products and there has never been 1 case of a reaction to them. The Phibrows lab with their chemists and scientist have developed and designed the highest quality pigments!
  4. Fact: Phibrows recently pulled out of the China and Brazil market for their government’s marketable approval (their products can still be purchased in these countries, but can not be labeled approved) because they required testing on animals. Phibrows responded that they have never nor, will they ever test their products on animals. Although they did loose marketable money, Branko Babic (Founder of Phibrows) issued a letter in response stating that the money wasn’t important to him. He values quality and doing the right thing. Mad respect to them! Eyebrow Mapping: Through careful assessment and measuring Phibrows Artist create the perfect eyebrows for your face. As a Certified PhiBrow Artist, I use the Golden Ratio of 1.618 to determine the correct proportions of your eyebrows, all individually fitted for your face through a superior eyebrow mapping technique. The Golden Ratio or Divine proportions, are found everywhere in the universe. From animals, nature, the stars, and even the human body. We determine the ideal eyebrows for you, based on your unique bone structure and the proportions of your face. The majority of your 1-2 hour long appointment will be spent on this phase – to determine what shape, hue and thickness is best suited for you. Naturally we will take in account your wishes and specific requests when planning your new brows. Perfection in the shape is an essential part of Phibrows microblading.
  5. Safety and Support: Phibrows is the safest procedure available for microblading. Through their staffed physicians, Phibrows has determined which medical conditions and pathology is not suited for microblading as well as which medications that should be avoided. Did I mention that Phibrows is the ONLY microblading academy in the world to have Physician – Artist support? Any Phibrows artist can email a Phibrows physician at anytime and receive medical advice for their clients regarding Microblading. That level of support can not be obtained anywhere else.
What to expect before and After?2021-04-28T08:53:15-05:00

It is important to know what to expect when receiving and caring for your cosmetic tattoos. Cosmetic tattoos are permanent and just like any other tattoo they require touchups and special maintenance.

Before Your Appointment:

In either scenario, every procedure is split into 2 appointments, which are 5-7 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete. To get the best results, make sure you are very healthy 72 hours before and after your appointment. Avoid aspirin/ibuprofen 72 hours before your appointment, one week before stop taking the following supplements: Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort (they contribute to thinning the blood and may affect anaesthetic efficacy). You may resume taking your vitamins 72 hours after your procedure.

IMPORTANT: No prescribed medication should be discontinued without permission of your doctor. If unsure please feel free to contact Black Moon Art Studio before your appointment date.

You will need to avoid caffeine and alcohol 36 hours before your appointment.

When you first come in for your appointment, you will have “before” pictures taken by your artist before the actual procedure begins.

Your artist will then measure and mark the edges of your new permanent makeup. With your approval, we will then numb the area (topical anesthesia) and the procedure will begin! Feel free to bring music to listen to for the duration of the procedure!

After the main procedure, you will have a chance to check out your new makeup and make any adjustments. When you are completely satisfied, “after” pictures will be taken and you can schedule your 5 week touchup.

After Your Appointment:

The results are a natural and flawless. Initially, the pigment appears darker, but fades significantly over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment. It is also important to note that there will be scabbing during the healing process. Please follow care instructions to properly heal these scabs without losing all pigmentation.

The results of this treatment can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure including skin quality, health, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

Touchup Appointment:

This appointment will not be much different then your initial appointment. As it was explained, the pigment gained from the initial appointment will fade at least 30-40% to a more natural shade.

After your first touchup appointment, your new makeup look will be restored! Other then the recommended occasional touch-up throughout the year. Be sure to follow the same care instructions as you did after the first procedure.

Is Microblading painful?2021-04-28T08:56:47-05:00

In order to provide the highest level of comfort for my clients, I use lidocaine, a topical numbing agent, in order to ease any pain or discomfort. However, sensitivity does vary and different clients will experience different levels of discomfort. Many of my clients report little or no pain. More often they say it’s a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, at most.

What is a Ombre brow?2021-04-28T08:49:54-05:00

Ombré shading is the newest trend in eyebrow semi-permanent makeup. It gives a soft shaded brow pencil look. Once healed, it is more natural looking than solid color. Ombré powder brows are less painful due to the airbrush-like technique we apply, which creates less trauma to the skin vs. the blading technique of microblading.

What is a Combo brow?2021-09-03T12:56:09-05:00

Combo Brow, is a combination of two forms of semi-permanent techniques: microblading and ombre brows (shading). Microblading hair-strokes are placed with a manual tool around the border of the brow to give the brow a natural look. The shading is then placed with a machine in between hair-stokes to “fill in” this gives the brow more of a natural make up look.

What is Microblading?2021-04-28T08:48:59-05:00

Microblading is a form of a cosmetic semi-permanent makeup performed using, a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (we call it a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin.

So is Microblading like a tattoo?

Yes, but also, not exactly. Unlike traditional tattoos that last forever, microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing. For microblading, artist use a hand tool that lets them create thinner, more precise, hairlike strokes that aren’t as deeply ingrained into the skin which resemble the actual hair fibers. The pigment also differs from that of a tattoo because (1) it’s only semi-permanent, which means your body eventually ends up metabolizing it so it fades away, and (2) the dye particles are less concentrated in microblading ink than in the ink of a traditional tattoo.

Lip Blushing

Can I still get Lip Blushing if I have lip filler?2021-09-06T21:41:56-05:00

Yes! In no way does lip filler interfere with the process of lip blush or the results. Note that lip filler appointments MUST be at least 4 weeks apart from each other.

What is the healing process?2021-09-06T21:42:20-05:00

Some swelling and tenderness after the procedure is normal and may last a day or so. You may experience swelling, this is normal and typically subsides within the first 24 hours. Also, your lips will appear darker for the first few days. Lips have the easiest and fastest healing. It only takes about 4-5 days to heal. During this time, you will need to apply ointment as your lips will be chapped.

How long does it last?2021-09-06T21:42:35-05:00

On average, Lip Blush fades away within 2-5 years, with most people wanting a yearly touch up.

Will it look like lipstick?2021-09-07T11:30:35-05:00

Lip Blushing is a technique that produces more of a “nude lip,” or “lip tint,” result, however, everybody’s skin takes the pigment differently. We always want to start light and we can build color on the touchup.

Tattoo Removal

What is saline tattoo removal?2021-04-28T08:52:32-05:00

A non-laser removal, also known as saline removal, is a method of removing pigment from skin cells using simple solutions rather than lasers. Li- FT solution is “tattooed” into the skin over the unwanted tattoo, and causes the skin cells to immediately begin releasing pigment particles.

What is Li-FT?

Li- FT is made by Li pigments in a state licensed and regulated manufacturing lab under sterile conditions and its independently tested for safety. It is a non-acidic high concentrated, saline based solution. The only saline lightening solution to combine the power of TWO fruit seed extracts, orange seed and lemon seed. Li-FT is the safest, most effective saline lightening solution available today.

Will this work on my tattoo?

This works on both cosmetic tattoos and conventional tattoos, done with any type of machine or manual tool. Your tattoo must be at least 30 days old before removal. (Unless we are doing Emergency Removal) Saline removal is not suitable for medium-large tattoos. Black tattoos are often more resistant to removal, meaning you may need an extra session or two. If your unwanted tattoo is covered in thick scar tissue, it may require more sessions to remove. In that case, microneedling over the area between sessions will help to break up the scar tissue and make for more effective removal appointments.

Does it hurt?

Most clients find that it causes a similar discomfort to getting the tattoo in the first place. But prior to the procedure, you’ll be numbed with a topical cream for maximum comfort. While you may see some blood, this is normal and necessary for creating the “controlled scab.”

Why should I choose it over laser tattoo removal?

Traditionally, this is just as effective as laser tattoo removal. The saline inspires skin cells to release pigment and rise to the surface. It is moreso a matter of how many sessions are needed to pull the pigment out completely, than whether or not it is possible. Whether your tattoo is 1 year old or 30 years old, saline removal will get it out. It does not permanently damage the tissue like lasers do, and is more affordable and less painful than laser treatments. Particularly if you plan to cover the area with a new tattoo once healed, saline removal will be in your best interest, as lasers can cause damage that prevents the skin from accepting/holding any new pigment.
